Frequently Asked Questions
Who do we contact for issues or concerns with general program inquiries, order quantities, vegetable quality, or delivery questions?
For all inquiries please email firstname.lastname@example.org
I want to add to my existing fundraising order
If you want to add items to your fundraiser order, we recommend you place an additional order through the website.
When is the last day we can place an online order?
7 business days before the delivery date chosen
How many volunteers will we need for our fundraiser?
Depending on the size of your vegetable order, you will need approximately 5-20 volunteers for about 1-3 hours. Here is a rough guideline:
100 bundles – 5 volunteers
125 bundles – 10 volunteers
150+ bundles – 15+ volunteers
Please keep in mind the vegetable delivery truck driver cannot assist with unloading vegetables.
How do we donate vegetables to a local food bank?
Farm to School has partnered with Harvest Manitoba, Food Banks of Saskatchewan and Food Banks of Alberta to deliver vegetable donations to local food banks throughout the province. All school and daycare donations will be received by the respective Food Bank at the end of the month that your order was placed.
On the day of delivery, what time can we expect delivery?
Winnipeg Delivery Times:The morning delivery slot is from 9am to noon OR the afternoon delivery slot is from noon to 3pm. The third-party drivers will call coordinators the day of their scheduled delivery only at the start of each time slot. Your phone call will depend on the time slot chosen by the school or daycare.
Outside of Winnipeg Delivery Times:The third-party trucking company hired for deliveries does their best to call coordinators before their arrival the day of delivery.
Specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed by the third-party couriers.
How does payment work?
Payment for orders will only be accepted online.
How does the school/daycare receive payment for their portion of the fundraiser?
Cheques will be issued and mailed at the end of the month that the fundraiser was completed.
What if we don’t get to the $800 minimum order?
The orders placed will be cancelled and those that ordered will receive credit for their original payment.
Several groups in my school would like to do the fundraiser, how do we coordinate this?
There is a minimum of $800 in orders required for the fundraiser.
We suggest you can nominate someone as the “Farm to School Fundraiser Champion” (perhaps this is YOU!). This person can inform all of the school and daycare group leaders, parent council, and teachers about the fundraiser and pass along all information to the groups in your school that are interested.
Once everyone is aware of the fundraiser, you can choose a fundraising period that works for all interested groups to ensure no one misses out!
**Remember there is only 1 delivery date offered per school or daycare centre. Therefore, if several groups or classes are fundraising, they will all have to coordinate one fundraising period for everyone. Vegetable orders for all of the groups will be delivered at one time on the selected delivery date.**
Can our school or daycare center complete the fundraiser more than once during September to December?
No, only one fundraiser can be organized per school or daycare during the fundraising season.
Is there a minimum order to be eligible for the fundraiser?
Yes, there is a minimum of $800 in orders in order for the delivery to be booked. If the minimum is not met, the purchases will be credited back to the forms of payment made for the orders.
What are the first and last dates that orders will be accepted?
The first date of orders is at maximum 30 days prior to delivery. The last date orders will be accepted will be 7 business days before delivery
When can we schedule our fundraiser?
Schools and daycares can schedule the fundraiser between September and December. The first day of deliveries is September 29. The last day for delivery is December 15
